Day 3 - African Sun Energy Solar visit

Today, the team attended our first site visit of the project - a solar farm! We met with engineers from African Sun Energy, before heading out to view some of their installation projects. Mechanical engineer, Tepo, taught us all about the inner workings of the solar panel modules and how they all link together to become such a successful renewable energy source in Botswana. With the first visit to a beautiful guesthouse, we were able to see how they use solar panel configurations around the property to power the guesthouses.

The company is working alongside the government to provide solar panel systems in places used by the public including schools and fire stations. We were so lucky to have to opportunity to visit one of these schools and see where they are installed, and learn how the positioning of the panels affects its function.
