Day 14

Today marked our final day of workshops in the schools. We traveled back to Masunga one last time to complete the remaining workshops, focusing on electrical engineering (copper crafts) and civil engineering (bridge building). The copper crafts were great fun and really allowed the students to showcase their creative side. The task involved creating a simple circuit with two LEDs and drawing a picture incorporating the LEDs to go with it. Some of the students drew amazing images, and they were all very happy to see their circuits working. The final team bridge-building activity was a great way to conclude our time in Masunga. All of the students had the opportunity to work together in teams, and we were able to see them putting some of the principles they had learned in other activities throughout our time there into practice.

It was incredibly sad to leave the school and to say goodbye to all of the students and staff. We all had such a great time and felt very proud of all that the students had achieved in such a short time. In the few days we spent with them, we saw them grow in confidence and begin to think about engineering from a much broader perspective than before.
